| Queens prosecutors say boyfriend Derrick Redd, angry with Delain for refusing to have an abortion, stabbed her six times in the stomach, killing her and the unborn boy she planned to name Aidan. "I either avoid the problem or I eliminate it," Redd said, according to investigators who interviewed him after Delain's body was found. Redd, 36, faces a murder charge for the Oct. 25, 2008, slaying of Delain, 25, but nothing for the death of the unborn fetus. Read more
Someone posted this excerpt on her xanga and the first comment down says,
"Ultimately, only one person was killed. And murder is most commonly defined as the unlawful killing of another person. A fetus is not a person. If it were considered a person, it would mean awful things for ALL pregnant women..."
Let's say the unborn is not a person and we are allowed to kill it. Well, if we're allowed to kill it, we certainly don't have to keep it in good health. (Dead is not good health.) IF the pregnant woman is not responsible for keeping the unborn in good health, then she can drink as much alcohol as she wants during her pregnancy. It's STILL the mother's choice to have the baby or not. Let's say she has it. And the born baby has fetal alcohol syndrome.
Was this all legal? Yep. Thanks government for protecting our children.

| Why is it that the criticism I get for my school work lately is usually, "It seems you're very passionate about the subject, you should do something that you're less attached to."
Why is it that I can't be passionate about my schoolwork? Isn't that what makes people good at what they do? They're PASSIONATE about it? I'm tired of doing spending hours on projects that I'm not passionate about. I've grown up going through the motions and doing the minimum amount of work just to get by. And as soon as I'm passionate about something and I want to go above and beyond, they say I'm too passionate. Too attached. School just wants me to be unhappy.
It's one thing if I'm supposed to get an objective view and show both sides of an argument, but my project is supposed to reflect MY view. Why do I have to be detached to my own view?
HAH. i guess that's why I'm back here at Xanga. Because no matter how much people disagree with me, this is mine. and I can do whatever I want on it, passionately.
| i wonder how many people read my blog nowadays... when i blog, i imagine that 3 or 4 people read it. i don't have any names to go with those numbers, it's just a guess.
well, i hope you are all doing well, whoever you are. and i hope that you all enjoy my blogs, or learn a thing or two from them. i'm all about spreading truth and ranting about injustices nowadays. i hope i'm doing an alright job.
no rants for today, though. no lessons, really. i'm just in one of those moods where i need to talk to someone but no one is around, so i go to xanga. hah. yes, i know. it's pretty pathetic.
until next time.. happy Advent everyone.

| healthcare is a right, not a privledge, but i'm against universal healthcare.
free speech is a right, but that doesn't mean the government should pay for all our newspapers, news channels, etc.
what are my reasons for being against it? (they may not be the most refined reasons, but at least i thought about the issue before choosing) pretty much.. universal healthcare does more harm than good.
universal healthcare takes away your freedom -in canada, you can't choose your doctor, so if you get stuck with a shmuck, you can't do much about it. -the wait for healthcare on average is 18 weeks. and you can't just pay more to get better healthcare.
here, if i think my doctor is a shmuck, i can go to another one. i get my healthcare the same day i go into the doctor. if my healthcare plan isn't good enough, i can pay more money to get a better one.
okay, sure.. some people get good healthcare in canada and in other
countries like england. but there are no factors that ensure good
healthcare. it's pretty much a coin toss. here, you buy good
healthcare, you get good healthcare. that's freedom.
i want to be able to work for my money, and use my money to choose what kind of healthcare i want. if i want to spend a little bit of money, then i'll buy the economy healthcare plan. if i want top notch service, then i'll buy the expensive one. that's freedom.
universal healthcare takes away human dignity giving a man what he ought to be able to obtain himself takes away his human dignity. man is naturally a provider, and if the opportunity to provide (especially for himself) is taken away, then his dignity is taken away. this may seem like a load of bull but it has its precedents.
back in the day, they built these huge high density housing for people who couldn't afford housing. people didn't have to work to obtain the things that they need and therefore, didn't work at all. they pretty much became bums. crime and vandalism rose. they ended up demolishing the housing. epic fail.
healthcare is a little different, but the concept is the same. healthcare is a basic need that a man should be able to obtain. the government is not our mommy. we don't need it to get these basic needs. there are some exceptions. sometimes a man does not have the ability to obtain healthcare because of things such as disability. in that case, then the government ought to step in and do something about it. otherwise, man up and go get your healthcare.
universal healthcare is bad economically in my opinion, the US is more gluttonous than any other country. if you give out free stuff, people WILL abuse it. not everyone, but a lot of people will. i have found that people will do anything to get free stuff, free chiropractor massages, free medicine that isn't really needed. and some doctors will give it to them because it won't make any difference to them. and who's paying for it? those paying taxes. so yes, taxes will rise. it's inevitable. (probably more in the US than any other country because we're so freakin gluttonous). yeah, yeah, but everyone pays taxes. not true. illegal immigrants don't pay taxes. i'm not saying they shouldn't have healthcare. i'm saying they should pay for it like everyone else. also, not everyone pays the same taxes, but everyone will get the same healthcare. fair? i think not.
oh yeah, and high taxes is going to make people work less. our working world is already made up of lazy bums. and with high taxes, there will be no incentive to work hard and/or compete for high wages because most of the money is going to be lost in taxes anyway. yes, some people don't care about the money, but most do. i know i do when i have a crappy job.
on expressing my opinion on healthcare to some people, i was accused of not wanting to help people. first of all, don't judge me, judge my opinion. second, universal healthcare does more harm than help. and third, it is not just for the government to MAKE me pay for someone else's healthcare. I want the FREEDOM to help, thank you very much. forcing a person to help is not the ideal way of helping people.
what about those who are uninsured? -it is illegal to refuse healthcare to people in need of it. -there are programs that help those who are uninsured pay for their healthcare. i know a guy who got surgery dirt free because a program gave him money for it. -its rare for full-time jobs to not include healthcare plans or pay too little for their employees to not be able to get one. its also rare for schools to not provide healthcare plans. -if you don't work or go to school, then why do you expect the government to pay for your healthcare? they don't owe you anything. everyone fights for their rights, but when it comes to doing their duty, who is stepping up? -if you do not have the ability to do these things, then that's a different story and the government should step in.
so these are pretty much my reasons being against universal healthcare. don't agree? fine, you don't have to. but especially if you don't agree, i encourage you to thoroughly think about their reasons for having certain opinions. "i'm for universal healthcare because it helps people" is not an educated opinion. i'm sick of people who don't think. comments always welcome.
